Dirty Flag

Occasionally an error message occurs when opening InSite. This error message will tell you that InSite Failed to set “dirty” flag in file, and then proceeds to mention that the Data Dictionary could not be found.

This is often followed by:

This ‘Dirty flag’ error means that InSite cannot write to the files it needs to. Usually, this will be because the user doesn’t have Read/Write permissions to the folder where the data is installed (by default C: \ InSite)

Additionally, the ‘read only’ option must be un-ticked within the properties of the users InSite folder.
