Setting up a link from imported boundaries
Boundaries imported from an ESRI *.shp or MapInfo *.Mid/*.Mif file need a link added to enable browsing/mapping to component schemas.
This link relies on the inferior schemas having the STD_POINT_IN_SHAPE property. This property is added to the low-level geographies during system creation. Any customer or location data imported using postcodes or co-ordinates to create a point acquire this property during the import process.

The STD_POINT_IN_SHAPE property can also be added to an appropriate schema retrospectively.
To add the Link:
Once the boundary file has been imported
Choose Tools | Configure Catalogue
Find and select the schema
In the right-hand window select Superior Links and right click choose New

Set up the link as shown here. It does not need an inferior schema as this is intended to link to any schema that has the STD_POINT_IN_SHAPE property.

Data for any schema with this property can now be accumulated through the shape schema and viewed in a browse or map.
