Creating a new Schema Group

Every InSite system contains schema groups, such as User Data and Study Areas and Catchments, to which you can import your schemas. However, as you use InSite more, and import more and more data, you will find that these schema groups become overcrowded. Making it hard to find particular schemas easily. You should take this opportunity to create a new schema group to place some of this data.

Go to Tools and select Configure Catalog

Select Properties then click on the New… button

Type in a Name, here SCHGRP_CUSTOMERS

Note: The name cannot contain spaces or non-alphanumeric characters

Type in a Description, here Customer Data

Tick the Defines Schema Group box

Select Apply, and Yes to Add new record?

Note: The schema group will not appear with your other schema groups until it has a schema in it

To add a schema into a schema group:

Go to Tools and select Configure Catalog
