Entering a new serial number (8.10)
The Serial Number is the unique key providing access to InSite for each user through the licensed period. These may need to be changed occasionally, to either extend use or to enable new applications and features. Additionally, when a license nears expiry, an error message will appear, prompting you to enter a new one. Changing the serial number is a fairly simple process and the steps are detailed below. To change the current Serial Number before expiry, see page 1. For editing an expired serial number, see page 2.
Note: You will temporarily need administration rights on your computer to be able to complete the instructions below. If you do not have any, please contact your IT department
To change the current serial number:
Open InSite
Go to File then select Help
Click on User Account Details then a box should appear which will allow you to type in your new serial number

Type the serial number you have been provided into the box
You could instead, copy and paste the key here (using the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V)
Your serial number will now have been changed, and will take effect when you next launch InSite
To change the serial number if expired:
Make sure that InSite is completely closed
Click on Start at the bottom of your computer screen
Type “regedit” into the search bar and hit the Return/Enter key on your keyboard to open the Registry Editor

On the left hand side, expand the folder called HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Next, expand SOFTWARE
Then, double click on CACI
In this folder, you should be able to see a folder called “InSite x.x” (this will correlate with the version of InSite you have installed)
Double click on SerialNumber which will be listed on the right-hand side of the screen

Type the serial number you have been given into the box labelled Value Data
Select OK and close the window
When you next open InSite, the Serial Key duration will be re-activated
