Using Browse Components

Browses on catchments can reveal insightful details about your customers, however, what if you need to investigate the geographical units that make up your catchment area. For example, you may want to further analyse the Postcode Sectors that make up your catchment. To do this we can use a feature called Browse Components.

Finding the Postcode Sectors within a catchment

NOTE: You can also find which Postcodes are within your catchment using the same method.

  • Open a browse on your catchments table (e.g. DriveTime/Circles or Retail Footprint)

  • Select the row(s) so that there is a red tick to the left-hand side

  • From the Browse ribbon, click on Browse Components

  • You are then given two options: Individual or Combined

Individual: To analyse one catchment (or to produce separate tables for each catchment):

  • Select Individual

  • From the resulting window, select Postcode Sectors within Postcode Geography

Combined: If you want to review the components within multiple catchments as one table:

  • Select Combined

  • You will see a window appear that will prompt you to clarify which schema you want to browse on

  • Select Postcode Sectors within Postcode Geography

  • After this, InSite will display a browse filtered to a tagged set of the postcode sectors that make up that catchment.

You can then use this browse to continue your analysis and investigate the area from it components.
