Naming Tagged Sets

Named tagged sets are useful when you want to create separate sets of tagging. When you tag a set of records, either in a browse or on a map, they will be temporarily stored in the default tagged set. If you open a new browse on the same set of data and do some more tagging, they will either, be added to the default tagged set or a default1 tagged set. This can lead to confusion if you are referring these tagged sets from elsewhere in InSite. An alternative is to use named tagged sets.

To name a tagged set:

  • Within the Data tab, locate the schema that contains the rows you wish to tag, then right click and select Open Browse

  • Go to Tagging then select Choose Set

  • Select New and give the tagged set a Name and a Description

Note: The name cannot contain spaces or non-alphanumeric characters

  • Select OK

  • Highlight the tagged set you just created and select OK

  • Select the records you want to tag

  • Go to Tagging then select Tag Selected. The records will be stored under the New Tagged Set.

The new tagged can now be accessed in a browse from the dropdown in the Tagging ribbon or can be used on a map layer.
