Adding a label layer to a map

If you drag a schema with a point/line/boundary onto a map twice, the second layer will default to a label layer. However, labels may be added to a map separately by adding a Label layer.

  • Open a map template

  • Within the Data view, right click on the schema you want to use and select Add Map Layer and then select the type of layer. In this case, Label

  • To edit this layer, move to the Map Properties tab

  • Select our new label layer from the layers list in the top half of the tab

  • With our label layer selected, we will see a variety of options below the layer selection menu

  • By default, Layer Info will be open

  • Use the Font menu to make changes to the appearance of the label

  • Use the Format menu to change the position of the label around its location
