Adding a label layer to a map
If you drag a schema with a point/line/boundary onto a map twice, the second layer will default to a label layer. However, labels may be added to a map separately by adding a Label layer.

Open a map template
Within the Data view, right click on the schema you want to use and select Add Map Layer and then select the type of layer. In this case, Label
To edit this layer, move to the Map Properties tab

Select our new label layer from the layers list in the top half of the tab
With our label layer selected, we will see a variety of options below the layer selection menu
By default, Layer Info will be open


Use the Font menu to make changes to the appearance of the label
Use the Format menu to change the position of the label around its location
