Adding a class to a thematic map

This tip will look at how we can add an extra class, at a specific point, within a thematic range.

Currently, if you add or remove a class using the arrows on the layer wizard classification page, the class will be added or removed from the bottom of the range.

If you wanted to place an extra class at the top of the list and therefore preventing you from re-typing all the classes, you can:

• Highlight the class that you want the new class to be placed in front of

• Right click and select Insert

• Click in the From and To boxes to change the scale as appropriate

• Click Calculate to re-populate the Count column
