Adding user defined lines and points

Points and lines defined by a user can be plotted on map. This allows lines or points not within the database to be displayed on a map.

  • Open a map template

  • Expand the Default Group Schema Group

  • Drag across the User Defined Points schema

  • Set the Standard User Defined Points layer as the Focus Layer

  • Click on the Geometry Edit tab and select New Point. A small red square will appear at the center of your map

  • Click and drag the square to its required location

  • When happy with the position, right click anywhere on the map and select End Editing

  • Save editing changes? Select Yes

Note: When you save changes, the square should change to match the symbol shown in the key, you can change this symbol in map properties.

  • Enter a Key for the point and click on OK

  • If you open User Defined Points as a browse, you will be able to see the point you just added as a row within the schema
