Adding user defined lines and points
Points and lines defined by a user can be plotted on map. This allows lines or points not within the database to be displayed on a map.
To create a user defined point:
Open a map template
Expand the Default Group Schema Group
Drag across the User Defined Points schema
Set the Standard User Defined Points layer as the Focus Layer
Click on the Geometry Edit tab and select New Point. A small red square will appear at the center of your map
Click and drag the square to its required location

When happy with the position, right click anywhere on the map and select End Editing
Save editing changes? Select Yes
Note: When you save changes, the square should change to match the symbol shown in the key, you can change this symbol in map properties.
Enter a Key for the point and click on OK

If you open User Defined Points as a browse, you will be able to see the point you just added as a row within the schema
